'Can that happen?'
She winced. 'I would like to say 'No.' But the world is complicated. Surely this is what the world needs.'
He started, with suspicion. 'Needs?'
She rubbed her head; she was tired. Physically, for no sleep. Mentally, for the difficulty in finding a justification. She stared out the window. 'It is a practical truth.'
